Eric, Mark: yes I knew about Diaclone for most of the Autobots (and Microman,
I believe it was called, for the majority of the 1st wave of Decepticons).
That's actually partly the reason for why I insisted that minifigs fit into
all my Transformers (and also the reason I probabaly won't be doing a
transforming Walther P-38 pistol or Walkman any time soon, if ever). But yes,
I was referring to the same space being used for fists in the North America
reslease of Optimus.

Yeah, Saran wrap/paper is great for creating those stiff shoulders. Also I
would think that double Throwbot ball-joints would work too, however I don't
have any, so I can't really back that up. ;-(

Mladen Pejic, over and out!
What exactly is a double Throwbot ball-joint? I have 1 Throwbot (sort of
regret buying it) and the ball joints aren't strong enough to support anything
made of bricks; but what do you mean by double ball joint?

I asked that exact question back here:

Yes, I actually had already seen that thread before; I guess I should've
elaborated I'm trying to figure out how to do a stiffer join in the same axis
as the direction of the studs, as opposed to perpendicularly.

I tried other stuff, like that sticky-tack stuff you use to put up posters,
and also Saran Wrap, but these little paper rolls did the trick the best.
I will definitely try the techniques you, Mladen and Mark discussed at some
point. Thanks for all the advice, people.

(...) I've typically used a 2x2 turntable plate (<part:3679> and <part:3680>) stiffened with a semi-thick piece of paper between the two halves. The trick is to get the paper just thick enough; your typical college-ruled school paper is too thin, (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)
