The best thing that worked for me was to cut small pieces of paper in strips,
then fold the strips up (i think I ended up with 10 layers or so of paper) and
cut them to be just a little longer and wider than the notches in the ends of
the pins.  Then you slip the paper pieces into the notches, and jam the pegs
into technic beams.  They're a real pain to get in, but do a pretty good job
of holding a lot of weight.  The arms and legs of my Kobold are put together
that way.

I tried other stuff, like that sticky-tack stuff you use to put up posters,
and also Saran Wrap, but these little paper rolls did the trick the best.
