  Re: Building a dome

(...) Depends on how hard you work at it. The finalist in <insert name of building contest> made a *huge* carousel, with the canopy made of red roof bricks. Very cool. There's a picture in the 1999 retail catalog that I got from CA last week. It's (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Building a dome

(...) Fairly difficult to do with Lego, at least on a large scale. You might want to check out Ed Boxer's Crown Cathedral: ((URL) not quite what you're looking for, but I suspect it's about the closest you'll get from "system" lego. (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hmm. For one-to-one combat, better break out the heavy artillery fighter. That one looks like a match. :) -Tom McD. (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Building a dome

I want to build a model of a building with a large, central (circular) dome. Does anyone have any experience and/or pointers???? -- Jeff Hensley hensley@utulsa.edu (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) Yes. (...) Good point. (...) What about a squad of light fighters attacking, with the Heavy Artillery Fighter providing cover fire? (I have a feeling that would be a *huge* file) Actually, just an animation of the heavy fighter going through (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) I assume you mean the Heavy Artillery Fighter? It would be a bit tricky fo it to win a fight against a hovertank armed with anti aircraft guns. It has only one big gun and that can't point down :) Your ship seems to be more of a long range (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

(...) I don't know. They're both black, so that might look sort of funny. You can see the ice planet fighter at (URL) ahead and decide for yourself if it would look good.[1] --Bram 1) And if it does... who will win? :) Bram Lambrecht / o o \ (...)   Re: New Service Packs for 1999..

(...) Don't forget the 4x4 round brick with side holes! Here's some others I'd love to see in a rounded parts pack: - 6x6 rounded-corner plate (fits with the 4x4 quarter-round brick) - 3x3 rounded-corner plate (new for Star Wars, I think) (fits with (...)   Re: New Service Packs for 1999..

You're right. When you try stacking those macaroni bricks, they become very unstable. I usually use only 3 or 4 on top of each other, and then a curved plate on top of that (sort of an overhang). The only stability with these is if you make a light (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: 40 new Photos of my City; more

  Re: SEV2

All this animation talk is making me very jealous :) Anyone offer to do my Ice Planet fighter with the turning turret that tilts up and down?   Re: SEV2

(...) That would be okay. I made the rod white only because that's the piece I used when I actually built the model. (...) No. I made sure of that on the real model.   Re: My first Original Train Locomotive Creation (age 9 or 10)

Master Modeler James as usual does not announce new stuff very well. ;-) Follow his link and check out his SLAG CAR! Very cool. Nice use of inversion, the entire car body is inverted but the slag bucket is not. (URL) drop center flat is also (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
