Re: New Mecha: "Troll" Infantry Support Mecha

(...) (I rarely see mecha's that do that). The only dissadvantage is the exposed fuel tanks in back. A back attack could destroy those, and it would cripple or destroy the mecha. Overall it's good. Chef (24 years ago, 13-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Aquazone Cathedral - Pictures at last!

Hi, I just finished posting photos of my Aquazone Cathedral. You can see the building here: (URL) follows the general floor-plan of French Gothic cathedral, although I've mixed in a bunch of other architectural motifs. Its quite large, taking up 6 (...)   Re: Suspension

(...) You are certainly correct about this, but as the travel of the suspension is relatively short, the effect is not a problem. The setup really is very smooth. By the way, I've changed the menu on the page now, and added some 'vintage' models (...) (24 years ago, 12-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

Didnt you post before in this thread about the pinball machine, I remember you said that a spyrius tile was used for the face. (24 years ago, 12-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains, lugnet.publish, lugnet.build)

  Re: Suspension

(...) Your approach is certainly very interesting! Honestly, I didn't know what a DeDion axle was, but I do now. :-) The design is probably very efficient and low frictiony, like you say. And keeping the differential fixed makes the rest of the (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Suspension

(...) Ah, yes! A custom made independent suspension, much like the one on 8448 or 8865. This approach will need no less than four universal joints. I think that it prevents the width of the vehicle from being narrow, so I've never used this approach (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

(...) I hate to do this, but I'll do a DAT file when I get back from vacation in a week.   Re: New Hexapod

thanks for the comments yes, what you described is correct. the blades of the worm gear are angled acutely enough so that the up/down movement of the legs is not affected by the back/forth. with just one motor, you cant have too many axes of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)
