  Re: Gothic cathedral pictures

Joe, Great job on Cathedral II!!! I really like it. I can't wait until Cathedral III. You did something that I try to avoid, namely the Chevet (curved east end of French cathedrals). There are a lot of logistic problems in building one, as I am sure (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Large, strong building (Re: Update on Virtual Plans)

(...) Has anyone used the large arch pieces to reinforce large structures? Especially the 1x12x3 full-arch. It seems like placing a few of those elements across two 'walls' of the beam-girders Terry has described above would be a decent start on a (...)   Re: New Space Ship added to site, check it out!

(...) What really bites is if the majority of your Lego collection is black, as mine is... I just rationalize it by saying that it adds to the "mystique" of the model. (...) That's a photo? Nah, it's a rendering, right? That's *really* a photo? Nice (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 60 degree problem

(...) This is true. My two copies of 8846 Tow Truck has these. They tended to break pretty easily, so it's a nice thing they were substituted. (URL) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 60 degree problem

(...) This looked (sounded?) interesting to me so I just spent a few minutes digging up a few of these plate hinges and some 2x2 plates, and a few various other things and found a couple things that may interest you. Take your original base (3 (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Space Ship added to site, check it out!

(...) I can sympathize with Patrick. Taking pictures of black models sucks. Getting sufficient light to capture detail, without being too harsh is frustrating. And it seems no amount of gamma tweaking or contrast/brightness adjustments does any (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 60 degree problem

(...) Try 4275 and 4276. I believe this is what your ascii art is. Also look at 4531. Larry is probably talking about 2429 and 2430 - closed, these form a 2x2, open they form a 1x4. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 60 degree problem

(...) Bingo! I'm not going nuts.[1] Thanks for the follow-up. I'll let you & Todd battle out the subtlies of "hinge" vs. "plate w/hinge fingers" :-) 1 - at least, not as far as Lego naming goes :-) -- Steven | svore at mindspring .com | kf4fbk | (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Space Ship added to site, check it out!
