  Re: Spanning large areas

Hey Brad, You've got some great ideas there! Some of them occured to me (and probably to other people) before, for example I'm sure many people use the "bound plates" method. In fact, I usually use this method. But while building my inn I discovered (...) (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Spanning large areas

Most stock LEGO sets use large, thin plates to create roofs and second-story floors. In some cases (like Fort Legorado, 6769), they have created super-large plates (black in this case) to do the job. What happens when you need to span a LARGER area (...) (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Lego Easter Bunny

(...) Thanks, I thought the LEGOLAND Master Model Builders had done an exceptional job on this, so I really wanted to build it. Not that their other creations aren't great, but this one seemed small enough to recreate, but not so small as to not be (...) (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.fun.holiday, lugnet.build)

Wow, John! Nice job! I like it a lot, it's very realistic... the details are great! If you don't mind, I'll XP to .build... -Shiri (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.fun.holiday, lugnet.build)

(...) Ok, I am new to LDraw and I haven't used it that much, but could someone please tell me how to input the previos information into LDraw and make it into a visible picture? Thanks! ~Nick (URL) (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, lugnet.build.mecha)

this is quite cool, bram. i particularly like the use of pink elements and the bubble over the cockpit/driver's seat. it opens up a whole new range of possibilities (flying versions of classic cars). good stuff! ..joseph g (...)   Re: '59 Caddy Hovercar Raytraces

I didn't know that about POV-ray. The only things I've rendered in it have been floating in space, so I've never tried something hovering over a reflective surface. Is the POV file available for download somewhere? I need a 1024x768 version for my (...) (24 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: '59 Caddy Hovercar Raytraces

(...) Thanks. (...) It's an optical illusion--well, actually, it's probably just a limitation of POV-Ray. AFAIK, reflective surfaces in POV don't actually reflect the light rays that bounce off of them, so no light reaches the bottom of the car, so (...)   Re: '59 Caddy Hovercar Raytraces

Very cool! Did you do anything special to the bottom of the car in the ray-trace? In the reflection, it looks almost like you have placed tiles there upside down, but the MPD has plates for the bottom. Or is it an optical illusion? James (...)   Re: DINOTRON: A cross-system hybrid MOC theme

Bravo, Todd! (...) Hmm. Have you tried using chains? If you got the girth right, you might be able to chain a small platform to their backs. Plus, the chains would make 'em look tougher. Don't forget the spikey bits. Jeff Elliott (24 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.duplo, lugnet.build.mecha)
