Re: Two more mathematical sculptures (and I'm in Wired)

(...) Your work is beautiful and stunning. Congratulations on the Wired article, and keep these sculptures coming!! Cheers- Cyndi (18 years ago, 22-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Two more mathematical sculptures (and I'm in Wired)

Wired magazine ran a short article on my mathematical sculptures in the October 2006 issue, and I've posted pictures of a couple of new ones on my website: A Boys' surface: (URL) punctured torus: (URL) especially pleased with the punctured torus, (...)   Re: Mech Bay 11

(...) Well I did, I went back to take another look a couple of times to reflect. 75 bricks is 90 studs, if I'm reading my handy-dandy "Legometer" correcty. It looks at least that big in the photos. It looks to me like a Space Police II lock-up on a (...) (18 years ago, 22-Oct-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Northwest Artifact wins Best of Show at NWBrickCon 2006

(...) Thanks, Anne. I have no idea where this one will go. I've managed to get the Ferry Boat on display at a Maritime Museum; the Smith Tower fits okay in our living room; but the Totem is still an orphan. I'll keep looking. Wayne (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Mech Bay 11

(...) Well. Your review is a lot better than previous ones. The comment about "could be a bit bigger" is pretty stupid though. And the rating system is as annoying as ever. Overall, 4 out of 10. (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Mech Bay 11

This is a great mecha bay! Pros: The color is perfect and the two towers are very good. I also like the rails connecting them. Cons: The whole thing could be a bit bigger. Overall , 9 out of 10. (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Mech Bay 11

(...) Wow! Lots of detail to look at, actually it took me a while before I discovered the Mecha! I like the side entrances with the ringed ladders. But green ground on the moon feels really out of place, even though it complements the rest of the (...) (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mech Bay 11

Just look at all those wasted castle parts... ; ) Serious;y, this is a great MOC, my faviourite of your bays so far. I like the grey with red/green. I don't know why but it works very well.   Re: Mech Bay 11

(...) Ya know, I don't really like Mecha and I usually think "man, not another Mecha creation". But this rocks! The best Mecha thing I have seen in a long time, probably ever. And right up near the top of Moonbase stuff too. Great job! The green in (...) (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Halloween Vig Contest 2 Entry - An Addams Family Halloween

(...) What a TREAT! *Love* the clapboard on the tower, and the Addamses are simply adorable. Funny though, I imagine this sort of prank would be more up Wednesday and Pugsley's alley. I know it runs counter to your "impending doom" style, but do you (...) (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: MOC: Under the Sea Wedding

Re: MOC: Under the Sea Wedding

Hey Anne, Cute scene. To me it doesn't really scream out underwater, though. In part it's the flowers, as john noted, but also the green ground. In most undersea MOCs I've seen (obligatory self-promotion: (URL) here's my only underwater MOC>), the (...) (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Imperial Russian Cossacks

Hi, Tim. Interesting way of doing the legs of the horsemen. Is that a half-stud offset? And is that the new 1x1 slope piece with no stud as their hips? If so, without the stud, what's keeping the torsos in place? Nice scene. -Brendan (18 years ago, 18-Oct-06, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)
