  Re: Combat Mechanic

(...) Hey, this is seriously cute! I love that it's an extension of a set too, and not a de novo creation. (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: IRON MECHA Results!

My congrats to Mark Stafford ===...=== (URL) Congradulation Mark! You're our IRON MECHA Champion. Thanks to everybody who participated and all the lurkers. Special Thanks to the judges for doing this hard job so fine. For me the best in this contest (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Combat Mechanic

(...) Well you've definitely improved on Uplink. I like it. It certainly looks very agile and articulated. I do love those curved slopes (with and without lips!) which you've used for armour all over. (...) The arms seem fine to me. I'm not too sure (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Combat Mechanic

(...) Hello Elroy, (...) this is one more good example, for what TLC could have made out of the EXO-Force theme. You did a fine job in eleminating all the odds of the original model. Plus, this one looks much better! The idea of a Combat Mechanic is (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The Max

Hi Fradel, great military Mecha MOC. The color scheme and the bulkyness of the overall shape I like very much. The legs are my absolute favorite, followed by the body/double cockpit. Both are very inovative, IMO. Regarding the other Mecha shown on (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Tango-no-Sekku (Boy's Day)

  Formula1 race car build contest?

How many people would be interested in doing a Formula 1 race car building contest? I am thinking of doing one and wanted to see how many people would enter. The contest would be to build a micro, mini-fig, or model team scale F1 race car. Here are (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: IRON MECHA Results!

Thank you all for your kind words regarding my nearly-studless mecha. You all understood what I was going for: techno-organic in an unusual colorscheme. Just finishing this model was a labor of love and was far more difficult that I could have ever (...) (19 years ago, 13-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Combat Mechanic

(...) snip (...) To be honest, I don't think you need to do anything to beef up the legs. They look good to me just the way they are!   Combat Mechanic

After buying a few Exo-Force sets, I decided that I wanted to do something in that style. Using (URL) Uplink> as a base, I created a Combat Mechanic.   Re: The Max

(...) I'm glad you like it. Those joints are great but I definitely wanted to keep them armored as much as possible. You lose some range of motion definitely but I didn't want it to be a target. Thanks for checking out the other stuff too. I'll try (...) (19 years ago, 12-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Max

(...) Thanks man. There will be more on the site as I continue to update the backlog. BTW, when do we get to see more of your power armor? Those thing's are great. I'd love to see a dio of a squad in action. F (19 years ago, 12-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Crap... Sorry about replying to my own post, but I forgot the credits: The loco headlamp was basically done by Tim Gould, (thanks!) and the window-as-ladder is taken off of Beat Felber's (URL) work>. Legoswami (19 years ago, 11-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

2 SNOT-heavy MOCs: Open wagon and WAG-7 Class

Well okay they're both CAD but I'm reasonably sure the construction techniques work.   Re: IRON MECHA Results!

(...) Thanks. I had some requests to see the unaltered pics of the Vore Del Mecha, though that's sort of like seeing a picture of a guy in an Alien suit sipping coffee before the camera rolls. ;-) It's just not scary without the flashing strobes and (...)   Re: The Max

(...) Nice! Very heavy-duty look, and I like how the black-and-gray scheme turned out. Having the reverse-knee armor plating mounted on a separate set of click-hinges is an inventive way of armoring-up those Exo-Force joints. I had a look at the (...)   Re: IRON MECHA Results!

For what it's worth, I think Brian Cooper's Bandolero was my favourite right from the start. The story was lost a little on me since I don't hardly speak a word of Spanish.   Parts Out of Context

It would be interesting to see if you have found ways to use parts in an environment totally different from what it was meant to be in. Like some cute single-purpose Scala utensil in a sci-fi scene or some hopeless Duplo block... well somewhere, I (...) (19 years ago, 10-Feb-06, to lugnet.build)

  Re: The Max

(...) Hey Fradel. Great mech. My favorite parts are the 'beefyness' of it, weapons and censors. The design certainly fits what you were going for and I also think it can be used as a training mech. BTW, I checked out the rest of your mechs and (...) (19 years ago, 10-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Window size in train engine

(...) Better yet. Add it at a slight angle and add a sloped roof leading up to it. Oooh! I like this train a lot. Wish I'd spotted it first ;) More Soviet trains is always nice. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Tim (19 years ago, 10-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Window size in train engine

Ah, the cab windows seemed harder to pull off than the side windows, which is why I focused on those. For the nose though, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to use the new window on the crane car in the freight set. I didn't mean the Krokodil (...)   Re: The Max

(...) Thanks ME. I see you're a legs man, I'm into breasts myself. One thing I was worried about was pulling off the armor look to the legs. I didn't want the KK joints too exposed on this build.   Re: The Max

Hi Fradel, It's a good military Mecha MOC but the legs are so chunky it looks to me like a Mech that's 'eaten' too much. Maybe you should have called it 'Max Body Fat'?   Re: The Max

(...) I love it. The legs, in particular - they're so magnificently chunky. The body has a nice hefty feel to it too.
