  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Worm gear count is eight. three in each leg, and one in each shoulder. The rest are mostly the new rotational click hinge. (...) I may be taking some more pics here, for my b-day I got a photography screen! No more taping the white sheets of (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Ah-ha! Hear that Sophie! You're going down, buddy! I got that supply of left monkey arms coming in from BL, you best be sweating bullets now. Thanks for the commentary on the arms. I was looking at that and the shoulder had to go through a (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) That goat critter was Pan. The hand did go through about five rebuilds for this mech and was the origional inspiration for this mech. (repositioned fingers, shortened overall hand, wrist redesign) I started by fooling with hand designs and (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Cleaning Bricks

Sure this subject has been broached before, but how is the best way to clean your bricks. I've heard the warm soapy water and a toothbrush, but is the dishwasher ok? Matt (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) Hey Mark, I did a Google search and I found that Te Horo is the name of a beach on New Zealand and DRIs is the Dietary Recommended Intake. Sooo...this beast was obviously created to search the beaches of Te Horo to take the DRIs of unsupecting (...) (20 years ago, 27-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) I like that gear-ratio reduction assembly to reduce the stress on the worm gear--tricky! Out of curiosity, what's the total worm-gear count? (...) Unequal length fingers, rotating thumb, the hand flattens out, sweet! (...) The black shoulder (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Flinstones micro car by my Brother Paul

I thought this was so simple & accurately recreated Fred's car, I HAD to post this; my brother Paul made it with the blue Xpod set: (URL) cool, Huh? Jeff (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

I really like the leg design and gearing. Gears are like muscles for mecha. The more gears, the more powerful the machine (appears to be). The spindly arms could use a gear infusion to beef them up... But I know you haven't made a lot of armed (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Killer Whale Hovercraft

(...) Thanks! They are mines of a sort...depth charges. Pomme de terre / Pomme de tErrE. :) And no...they don't really hurt whales. They 'kill' them metaphorically with witty satire and zippy dialogue. :) Cheers, -G (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Killer Whale Hovercraft

(...) You should! The mo' the bettah! (...) I was thinking of that when I was building it. In the end (like with quite a bit of the Joe stuff I make), I decided that play factor wins over accuracy as I wanted the missles to fit all the way into the (...)   Re: B.I. Joe: Killer Whale Hovercraft

(...) Thanks! The free motion of it works fairly well....got the idea from the new WC hovercraft hideout set. Cheers, -Gil (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Mosaic: Nativity Scene

I don't use exclusively 1x1s... I use other size bricks as well, and at the seams of the baseplates beneath I make sure that I have larger bricks that spans the seams to hold the baseplates together. eric (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: LEGO Mosaic: Nativity Scene

(...) Eric, Very nice, just like all your other work. I am a newbie at mosaics so I have what it possibly a dumb question. If you build a mosaic out of 1x1s, do you use a layer underneath the 1x1s to hold the baseplates together? If so, what is the (...) (20 years ago, 26-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: Captain Cool-Guy: The Expanded Universe

Hi Felix Wow, your creation of Captain Cool Guy et al is fantastic! I hope you manage to flesh out a comic strip. Captain Cool Guy is just ripe for a cult following! Regarding the size/scale you are building, could it be called "macro"? Who cares (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: You know you love it.

(...) Hey, I wouldn't have posted if it wasn't worth it. It's not often that you get to see nubile minifigs with good busts posing for you. Stop looking at me like that. Samarth (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: LEGO Mosaic: Nativity Scene

(...) you're collecting a bunch of the "Spring Cleaning" buckets so that you can do a 15- or 20-color mosaic someday soon. And congrats on the Games Magazine article; I'll be amazed if you're not deluged with requests for those snowmen. I myself (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

  Re: Horodris the mech

(...) It's a good mech (if it weren't for the legs, I would be forced to call this one "mecha"). I like how clean it looks - very nice indeed. I like the hands; many have used those joints before, but it looks like you put a lot of time in to the (...) (20 years ago, 25-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Need Help: Rotating Sections of a Spaceship

(...) Hey Lenny, I just wanted to pipe in with my two cents. I've been working on a ship with a rotating mid-section, though it's probably not as large as yours is looking, it's a medium minifig scale ship, and it only has one rotating section, in (...)
