I don't use exclusively 1x1s... I use other size bricks as well, and at
the seams of the baseplates beneath I make sure that I have larger
bricks that spans the seams to hold the baseplates together.

Eric,
Very nice, just like all your other work.
I am a newbie at mosaics so I have what it possibly
a dumb question.
If you build a mosaic out of 1x1s, do you use a layer
underneath the 1x1s to hold the baseplates together?
If so, what is the layer generally made of?
Or is there some other way to hold it all together?

Thanks,
dave
