hinge question (was Re: Mecha - What do you need?)

(...) How do you rate those things, particularly in comparison to ball joints? I've been looking at that set for a while, but all I really want are the hinges so I can't really justify it even at the AU$45 I can get it for now. Are they any good? (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) well, most of my mecha are under 6 inches tall so: Taps - I can't stress enough how useful I find these things for small hip and shoulder joints. Minifig megaphones 1x1 clip plates and tiles 1x1 headlight brick 1x1 round plates - my favourite (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

David, I think those legs are great! It was hard to tell with it all black, but now that you have added the diagram and the link to your inspiration, I am going to steal that idea too! Keep pumping them out! t (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) I'd like to see the "Super Battle Droid" clickwheel hinge in more colours. It comes in black/dark grey in the Exo-Toa Armor-- let's get it in red/yellow/"real" blue/light grey too! More more more compound wedges and round slopes! More wedge (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) I use 1 x 2 handle plates, 1 x 1 vet and horz clip plates, neck brackets (just started using thanks to SW Minis and Kotaro), I use alot of 1 x 2 plates, and those headlight / camera bricks. t (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Who's up for mech building?

I made a leg armature that is strong, easy to build, and doesn't need too many specialized pieces. Please note, I goofed on the first and second pic, you'll need four(4)x4 long technic axles, not two. here's the pics post mod: (URL) links: Step 1 (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

Thanks for all the great replies! I too build in much the same manner. Let me clarify, Specifically what kinds of parts do you use when building Mecha, and or types of peices would you like more of? e (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Some new micro-scale equipment

(...) Hehe thanks Jeff! I guess Tobbe was right - walking draglines are a bit of an unknown quantity unless you know about strip mining, so I include a link here to a page with more info about "big muskie" (URL) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

  Re: Some new micro-scale equipment

(...) They look terrific! The dump truck is spot-on. I have no idea what a walking dragline is, but it's impressive. So is the city crane. Jeff J (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) 1. Lego bricks 2. Uninterrupted time. 3. A build up of rest and nourishment, because I'll just keep building. 4. Music. Lots of music. 5. Wooshing noises, or Whrrrr-THUD (walking mech) sound effects. (...) I'm kind of zen in this respect. I'll (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: A small village car repair shop in 30ies style

(...) for your very kind words! The junkyard is just junk, but your wish for more pictures of the cars is easy to fullfill - check it out here: (URL) is quite hard to get the needed parts for the car together: you need 7(!) of the bigger parts with (...)   Re: A small village car repair shop in 30ies style

(...) Dear Frank, nothing is easier than that! That car is a 5-wide model of a VW beetle, which means it is not fitting into a 30ies sceenery, but anyway - I meant the side building to be in that fashion, not the whole sceenery, which is nearly (...)   Re: Small Scale Death Star MOC

Thanks, guys. Once I get my new LEGO site up, I'll have a generic sphere and instructions. I do plan on making spheres of different diameters (and possibly variation Death Stars), but I think I should finish the site first... -Bruce Brucey-Wan's (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: Rebellion and Repercussions

(...) Don't tell me, let me try. Hmmmm. . . . I'm going with Exodus 10:15, and maybe 9:10? (...) You mean that's cut and paste? Good job. Looking close, I'll guess 9--the first two rows in Num 20:20 are real, those behind are repeats. (...) Hey, (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament: Rebellion and Repercussions

(...) I don't claim to understand Yahweh's system of justice, but as far as I know, there's no evidence in the Bible that Aaron ever took any blame for the whole Golden Calf incident. Somehow he got off scott-free while 4,000 of his fellow (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament: Rebellion and Repercussions

(...) Thanks, Bruce. (...) Cool. I wanted to make sure Korah was a charismatic enough-looking guy for 250 Israelite men of repute to follow him into rebellion -- someone who could stand up to Moses and not just look foolish. (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: Rebellion and Repercussions

(...) Yes, you are technically correct. But then I wouldn't get to show off the Ark of the Covenant! And it looks so cool! @8^) You'll just have to wait until Solomon's Temple for the ark to be hidden away in the holy of holies. (...) Thanks! It's (...)
