Re: New MOC: One-man Scout Ornithopter from "Dune"

(...) Thanks. I did toy with the idea of building a spice crawler, but it would have to be HUGE. (...) Hmmm - interesting ideas. But the Baron isn't really a giant, just big around. (...) Blue-eyed minifigs? Now your just being nitpicky :-) (...) (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: One-man Scout Ornithopter from "Dune"

(...) Glad you like it. That minifig head is a Hydronaut head. I got mine from Solo Sub 6110, which was a pretty inexpensive set & still available until recently. (the minifig is the only good thig about it, however...) - Paul (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: One-man Scout Ornithopter from "Dune"

(...) Perhaps definitely. (...) That's a fun idea - I think it does. I had a lot of fun making these figs - Dune is just full of great characters. Glad you like 'em. - Paul (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Green minifig hands?

(...) That would be cool. I didn't notice that (or didn't get that catalog) as for green hands none of the alpha team people have green hands (lt grey but no green) bobba fett has dark grey and the flash speeder pilot has brown and the green haired (...)   Re: PVA glue & lego

Aaron Coghill wrote in message ... (...) It definitely won't melt the plastic, PVA is water based not solvent based. I very much doubt if the bond would be permanent - I suggest you take a couple of non-valuable bricks and do a test. Kevin ---...--- (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: One-man Scout Ornithopter from "Dune"

(...) Paul, I think your 'thopters are the best of the three listed, they come pretty close to capturing the feel I got from the books. Do you remeber where did you get the felsh colored minifigs with the tubes/pipes on the face? Thanks, George (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... /First entry

(...) I bet it did. Lots of staging to get all those progress shots. LOVE the prototype photo for comparision. It highlights that you really NAILED the look, even under selective compression. All the details and shapes are in place to get a viewer (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New MOC's: Building & NYPD/FDNY vehicles

(...) Hi Chris, Thanks for the comments! Feel free to steal the window (or any) of my designs. The round parts on the cornice are headlight bricks (set back a stud on the bottom--2 studs on top) with a 1x1 green round brick attached sideways. thanks (...)   Re: New MOC's: Building & NYPD/FDNY vehicles

(...) Hi Jonathan, Excellent building! I like the window trim (I might 'steal' you design :). What makes up the round parts in the cornice? -chris (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

  Re: Spamcake Diner Franchised!

John: (...) I really like the idea, but I am afraid the local planning authorities would complain loudly. The architectural advisor of the city council discourages buildings that don't go well with the existing buildings in the downtown area. Do the (...)   Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... /First entry

(...) Ben, Wow, that's a remarkable building, and seeing the construction/rehabilation in progress makes it even more interesting. You've set a high mark for a winning entry. George (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

Re: The Debut of The Legomaster's Lego Continuum

(...) Very nice work Eric. It is good to see a builder as good as you are to finally get a webpage. It as amazing how all the links seem to work (especially since you are using the double frame design). I don't like your color sceme though, black (...)   PVA glue & lego

Ques: is it okay to use PVA (woodworkers) glue with Lego. Is the bond permanent, does the glue melt the plastic. I'm putting together a small display, and the glue would hold things together, but I don't want a permanent bond. Thanks in advance (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: One-man Scout Ornithopter from "Dune"

hey, that's really cool. I never thought of a 'thopter like that. I remember the ones from the Sci-Fi miniseries, and the ones from the old movie. didn't really care for either design. I think my favorite design so far came from "Dune 2000", the (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)
