Revision 2 of my 1:400 airport

Revision 2 of the main concourse is now complete. (URL) changed from 4-wide to six wide for the sake of scale. I went with bendy-arms for the jetways. Yes, they are round and not rectangular, but I like their modular nature in fitting different size (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

The Minbari, and to a lesser extent the Centauri, are suspected of using drives that interact with the Zero Point Field (don't have time to explain the ZPF right now), thus enabling them to use a reactionless drive. Your're wrong about the (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Rotational surging ?

There is this MOC that I have been working on, a znap/system/technic ferris wheel. I have noticed a curious behaviour... for lack of a better description, I call it rotational surging. The ferris wheel is driven (but not weight supported on) a (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Not quite sure what you mean here. A ship could fly in space with similar flightpaths to how it can fly in an atmosphere. Nothing says that it can't. If you want to execute a smooth sweeping turn like in the atmosphere, you need only have (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

[nb.: Scroll WAYYYY down to the end for the .admin.general item] (...) Thanks! I'm glad it has the approval of the ABS-grognards among us. :) I was warned, however, that building that ship served as an official gauntlet-dropping for you at next (...) (...) Hey, thanks! It's no pagoda--that'll have to wait for another day--but I'm partial to it as well. I thought you'd also appreciate that little front-page backstory. ;) (...)   Re: Getting my own fingers into this mech thing.

(...) Hey, thanks! Yeh, these alien suits often try to look like creatures because, in a sense, they *are* creatures. How can one improve on nature? :) (...) Actually, boring is precisely what I wanted. Utile, facile, and most of all camoflauged. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Awesome idea for a quadruped mech/tank...

(URL) is so cool! This looks like it would be a blast to build out of lego, I might try it sometime in the future...project number 34 hehe, I have way too many ideas right now, and not enough bricks. This guys art work is really neat, I found it (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) I don't see how this question is even debatable, because you're talking about fictional technologies, most of which disobey all current known laws of physics. You might be able to debate specific cases, but it's still extremely difficult to do (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Sure they can co-exist, if the creator of the show wishes them to. :) Now, if you want TV show/movie examples, try Macross/Robotech, Nadesico, and Gundam.   space/mecha combat theories... (was Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?)

In starfox, there is a level where you fly around in space and kill robot/mech things, I dunno if that's what you mean though. But I think (from a non-anime oriented perspective) that mecha could easily be pitted agains't spacecraft and have a (...)   New MOC: Simple Arched Bridge

I've completed a quick MOC, an arched bridge: (URL) was really just for fun. I guess I got a little carried away yesterday- this only took 7 hours to build.
