Re: I finally finished my roller coaster!

(...) WAY cool! Congrats on a job _well_ done! I see a mindstorms kit keeping the space/timing between more trains on the same time, perhaps make a "magasine" with trains so that each train is replaced every third ride, that way you could have it (...) (22 years ago, 23-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: I finally finished my roller coaster!

(...) looking for is a system that could be automated, or that would make it easy to take minifigure in and out when needed. I would imagine the rubber retraints would be a little tricky from that aspect... but they sure would cut down on my (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: I finally finished my roller coaster!

(...) Thanks Ted! (...) The biggest unexpected thing was the energy loss that is constantly occuring. Everything has to be really tight to prevent that loss. The other thing this project taught me was how incredibly complex real roller coasters are, (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: I finally finished my roller coaster!

(...) Thanks! (...) Mindstorms is definately something I want to add to this roller coaster. I like the idea of automatically replacing trains. Other spots for mindstorms are stopping at the station, opening and closing loading gates (if I had them) (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

(...) After hearing you drop hints about this thing for so long, it's great to finally see it- I just wish I could have made it for GATS last weekend. Wonderful engineering! -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com www.pnltc.org (22 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

oh, cool....wow....(jaw hits floor)... One question, though. I'm not too well versed on track, but how did you get all the curves in the track done (i.e. curving up and down?) It's truly an incredible piece of work... -Scott Lyttle (22 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: I finally finished my roller coaster!

That's Incredible and then some! The only roller coaster I have ever seen made of Lego is the one built by David Mercil. He used a different method for the tracks though. It never accured to me to use train tracks. (22 years ago, 1-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)
