  Entry to lame parts contest

Hey gang. I've been busy doing strange things with lame parts, and the result is the Chaos Nova, my entry to the lame parts contest. It uses 8 of the 10 lame parts (I don't have any Galidor, nor any of those little white fences) so I included 2 (...)   Re: Entry to lame parts contest

Nice one. It's a lame parts extravaganza! What on Earth are you doing with that many manta rays and tree stumps? It's up on the site now. Thanks for entering. Allister (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Apparently, I'm collecting lame parts, that's what I'm doing with them :) Get enough divers sets and Wild West Indian sets, and you too could have had a preponderance of them :) Adrian (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

Dude... that is awesome. If I cross my eyes, this MOC looks like a super-cool space fighter-something-or-other. I then uncross my eyes, and this wealth of detail comes. I love all the spaciness in this MOC... even though it is a lame-part model. I (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

(...) Heh, yeah it is. I'm particularly pleased with the way the soccer ball turned out. It's like it was made to fit in those 1x4 arches. (...) I do it that way because I'm lazy and I like consistency. I really don't care that much many hits I get. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

Thanks. Don't cross your eyes, just look at the amorphous blob that is the thumbnail :) I tried very hard to obscure the lameness of the lame parts as much as possible, which is why it ended up being my third MOC with the brown/grey/tan color (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

That turned out pretty cool. The lame parts don't really jump out at you. They contribute to the color scheme pretty well. Nicely done. Good name, too. -Andrew (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

Thanks. My wife was particularly surprised with how well the rowboats integrated into the general shape of the ship. I myself was happiest with the way the rope bridges integrated. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do anything with them that wouldn't (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) I agree, and to add to the nit, when posting links, please put a (URL) front of the URL. It makes the URL clickable in Netscape (and Outlook and probably other news readers). I often skip URLs without because I'm too lazy to cut and paste, not (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Wow! That is amazing! You are truly an accomplished lame-partist! I bow down and give homage. The soccer ball use was excellent. Your use of the rowboats was also quite good. Way to go! Josh (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

Ya know, when this contest was proposed I thought it had Drake written all over it - unorthodox parts in unorthodox usage. The others have detailed many of the point that make this thing rock. One realy nice touch perhaps not mentioned yet is the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Hey, thanks for the compliments. Lamepartism seems to be an odd skill to have, but I'll take what I can get. Adrian (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Entry to lame parts contest

(...) Yeah, the only part of the entire ship without any lame parts on it :) It enabled me to incorporate the sliding motion easily. It's hard not to make a cool cockpit with that slave 1 canopy, though. Thanks Adrian -- (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Everybody needs a skill. (...) I'm glad somebody noticed that. Those wings were a pain in the butt to keep secured onto the rope bridge. Before I put some supporting plates underneath them, they'd pop off if I looked at them funny. Or if I (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)
