New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
Inspired by Jon Palmer's m-wing, I decided to do something similar with a few of those stubby bionicle legs. The Megaera is the result. It's on the space page. Enjoy! Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space) !

Wow, those engines are really sometin', IMHO. ;-) I like the whole model Adrian. It almost seems like those parts were made to put themselves together that way! Kewl... (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
Thanks. I actually started the model from the engines, and worked my way forward. I really like the way they turned out. I think it's my favorite part of the whole ship. Adrian (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Very cool! The Bionicle parts give a nice texture and unique details to the ship. The landing gear is a bit odd at first, but it works. The muted color scheme is great too. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
(...) Not every ship has to be grey on grey or some primary color, does it? After doing two models in the brown/tan/dark grey color scheme, it's really starting to grow on me. As for the landing gear, yeah it does look a little strange, but then if (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Alexander Zwagerman
A truly innovative design, with that cool use of Bionicle parts. I can see the M-wing inspired you, but you really took the idea further and improved on it, with all respect to Jon's great work of course. Alexander (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
Thanks. There's a real challenge in incorporating bioinicle parts into normal creations, because they never have studs on them, so you have to get creative when attaching and detailing them. I'm still not exactly sure how Jon got all those greeblies (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
(...) I'd have been called a ripoff if I hadn't :) (...) Yeah, it is a nifty scheme. Too bad I don't have enough brown or tan to do a truly large spaceship in this color scheme (unless it's like Mark Sandlin's Nesquik Bunny ship and makes heavy use (...)         Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Mark Sandlin
(...) I like it. Looks like it could get knocked around and still keep going. (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
(...) The toughness of this ship was a byproduct of using the bionicle feet as wings. Because of that, the wings are much thicker than they would've ordinarily been had I used plates. That and brown's a nice down and dirty color :) It was all (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —John Henry Kruer
(...) Wow! This ship is just gorgeous... the color scheme is wonderful, and so are the bionicle parts! They make it look almost like an alien craft. I need to get some curve slopes and bionicle parts... -JHK (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, that sort of was the point, it IS an alien craft :) (...) There's a use for every kind of piece in space. Adrian (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Jim Foulds
(...) Very nice job, Adrian. I am always impressed when someone builds a space MOC in another color besides gray because of the limited assortment of pieces that are available in the other colors. Thanks for another inspiring use of the Bionicle (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
(...) It's fun to build in something other than grey. That's why I like doing my turbocycles so much, as each one is typically a different color, so I can experiment with different color schemes. (...) There's a use for everything out there!         Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Gil Shaw
This is a wild little ship, Adrian... a real bruiser. The brown, tan and grey just make the stubby-tuff design sing. Well, grunt loudly at any rate. Amazed. Again. Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Megaera Light Attack Fighter —Adrian Drake
(...) It probably screams like a banshee, actually. Megaera is the name of one of the furies from ancient Greek Mythology (specifically, she's Jealousy), so I bet she shrieks really well :) Adrian (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)
