Well, here it is; the Burtonmobile.

.

Check out the complete gallery here.

Looking around Brickshelf, I couldn’t find many great interpretations of the awsome Batmobile from the 1989 film (there are a few good ones though). The Burtonmobile is easily the best looking Batmobile, and I felt that it was my duty to render it in bricks before anybody else did. This version accomodates the new Batman minifig. The cockpit slides forward to allow the figure to be seated.

Of course, the most frustrating part was waiting for the bricks I needed from bricklink. If anything, this MOC suggests you don’t have to be a good builder to get a decent result. I am quite pleased with how this one turned out.

If it does slide then you get even more points for that. (...) (19 years ago, 25-Apr-06, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Great work! I reeally like the sleekness of this MOC. I also loved this line, which really captures the AFOL spirit : ) (...) I only have one question: Does it have a real shooting cannon? If not how can you even compare it to the lego version? ; ) (...) (19 years ago, 26-Apr-06, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Great work Joel! I'm amazed how much detail you managed to put in at such a small scale. Some of the "newer" parts available now obviously helped a lot. The '89 Burton is also my favorite Batmobile. I did build one out of Lego right away after I saw (...) (19 years ago, 27-Apr-06, to lugnet.build, FTX)
