Looking around Brickshelf, I couldn’t find many great interpretations of the
awsome Batmobile from the 1989 film (there are a few good ones though). The
Burtonmobile is easily the best looking Batmobile, and I felt that it was my
duty to render it in bricks before anybody else did. This version
accomodates the new Batman minifig. The cockpit slides forward to allow the
figure to be seated.
Of course, the most frustrating part was waiting for the bricks I needed from
bricklink. If anything, this MOC suggests you don’t have to be a good
builder to get a decent result. I am quite pleased with how this one turned
out.

Great work on what is easily my favourite batmobile. You’ve really made a sleek
version in a relatively small scale. Does the cockpit actually slide or does it
need to be removed first? If it does slide then you get even more points for
that.

| (...) The canopy slides. Its fastened on using a technic rod and moves forward 3 studs, making it relatively easy to put a minifig (including Batman) in the cockpit. It does not have to be removed. I suppose I should have mentioned that in my (...) (19 years ago, 25-Apr-06, to lugnet.build, FTX)
