(...) Astounding. Simply astounding. Any estimate of how many hours (research and construction) were involved? (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show —Tim Tosino
(...) I think we started in March or so and some of the parts of the layouts took over a month to build individually. We had to set it up on the Friday from about 12:00 Noon till 5:30. (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) I like it! Particularly the hotel and the greenery. It reminds me of my two years in Vancouver, and of a song I haven't thought of in ages: There's a place in Vancouver you all know so well It's a place where they keep rotgut whiskey to sell (...)      (...) Wow! This is one of the nicest layouts that I've seen yet. I really like the way that the track wanders throughout the layout without being stuck to the edges of the tables. The working sawmill is very clever. I would like to hear more about (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show —Tim Tosino
(...) Hehe we must've spent at least an hour resolving track issues... Trying to figure out weather our Track Plan had 2 straights or one straight and a curve. The sawmill was designed and operated by our President Dave D. He got sick the week of (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show —David Gregory
That is one of, if not the, best layout I've ever seen. I can tell a lot of work went into that. The only thing I could find wrong with it is the lack of more colors of certain roof pieces, which is, of course, the fault of LEGO Direct. I can't (...)      (...) You missed the best part. The fact that this layout has TWO reversing loops and a shared line! (URL) an overview of the layout. You'll notice the figure eight line shares the tressle bridge with the main line. I used 3 RCX's with my custom (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show —Tim Strutt
(...) Now that is really impressive. The pictures look great, but I would love to be able to set up an RCX controlled layout with reversing loops, etc. Now, if I could just afford those RCX's... :-( BTW, my compliments on the layout. Wonderful job. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.trains)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show —Jason Spears
(...) Wow. Doing a period layout is just too cool. We (MichLUG) have talked about it, but that conversation has never gone far. I also really like the track layout going all over the place. Neat. The fact that the layout was able to get away from (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.trains)
