Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) True. (...) Sounds better and better. Chris (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I loved it. I had a big stupid grin on my face for two hours. The entire movie is a tribute to 1930s era art deco, robots, and adventure comics of the time. There are also a lot of visual references to old science fiction movies, so keep your (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Thanks for the reviews guys. I will probably see it, but maybe wait for the dvd it often works out at the same price as a cinema ticket! :) In the very least it can be of some inspiration for MOC building! Chris (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) Saw it and REALLY liked it. I knew it wasn't going to be Shakespeare, but it was an enjoyable romp. It was like watching a pulp novel, and it really worked. There was real chemistry between Paltrow and Law, and the ending line was a corker. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

The movie is good but a little disjointed at times. However, it isnt exactly Crimson Skies on the big screen. It has all the elements of one but it doesn't put it into cohesive aerial cinema. The imagery is really good, though with a 50's style (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I didn't get a chance to see it while it was in the theaters. The trailers I saw looked really cool though. I know it didn't do very well (at least in this area) at the box office, but that doesn't always mean much. I'm patiently waiting for (...)   Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

I have just seen the trailer for this film, it has possibly been on release in the USA for a while, I don't know. But it looks like Crimson Skies has just hit the big screen - blimps and prop planes with huge guns!! Has anyone seen the movie? Is it (...)   Re: .adventurers needs your help!

  Re: Steamed Onions

(...) I mean Big Ugly (URL) Rock> Pieces. And the equation works for me, btw. (...) Yes, I do need to get to that whole sorting ordeal one day.. (...) You got me there. (...) What if the lame part ends up being integral in a MOC trend? (Like the Pod (...) (20 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Steamed Onions

(...) I thought you wanted it made shorter? Has “burps” some kind of lego connonation I’m not aware of or are we OT? (...) That depends a lot on how well you’ve sorted your collection, but yes, rare parts, and parts you don’t have are of course (...) (20 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: .adventurers needs your help!

(...) Chris, You can add a link to my Snake Oil Salesman MOC if you want. The original thread is here (URL). You can also add my name to the role call if you'd like. I really need to build a few more Adventurers oriented MOCS. -Elroy (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  .adventurers needs your help!

Hi Adventurers! I need your help. As you can see I am trying to make this page a little more organised and a lot more interesting, and to do that I need a little help. Here's what I am looking for: Links to Brickshelf Galleries: I can find lots of (...) (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Steamed Onions

(...) Yeah, but I would imagine a techwest distillery to not have clean white tank thingies. Now if they were in chrome copper... (...) Well, at that point, we may as well just make a "no BURPS" symbol. Which I couldn't wear, because I can't get (...) (20 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Prototype Hunters Library

(...) snip Do yourself a favor and read the graphic novels - the movie was awful. Marc Nelson Jr. (20 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Prototype Hunters Library

(...) You really should. After the Nemo stories and the Indy films, this is some of the best inspiration for Adventurers fans IMHO. You'll love how they took snippets from dozens of other stories and movies :D (...) Sounds like a plan! (20 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Steamed Onions

(...) I was thinking more of Tech West when I said Whiskey, if you want it to be PCS, it’ll probably has to be Flash Gordon (dry) Gin. (...) What about "Parts > 100 stud^3 = lame"? (...) I can't figure out how people have time for such neither, I've (...) (20 years ago, 8-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Prototype Hunters Library

(...) Thanks Jan-Albert. I haven't seen TLEG yet but I plan to. I thought about a Protoype Hunters Manor at one point, the library being the first part of it. Who knows? Chris (20 years ago, 8-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Prototype Hunters Library

(...) Reminds me a bit of some of the scenes in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" ! Great work, hope to see some more Prototype Hunters MOC's. (20 years ago, 7-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)
