I never thought I'd see the day when the Powers that Be are insinuating that
LEGO folk lie to them(1), telling LEGO folks to shut up except in a narrow
little box because we're not interested in their information, and making it
hard for them to be AFOLs due to an "unfortunate side effect" that probably
never will be fixed because it's not high enough priority.

Well I may be mistaken but I think that Todd and Suz may feel a bit betrayed
by LD.  The one example that comes to mind is the T-Shirt Thread.

Which a few months later got to this response from LD:

Which I think Got Suzanne upset:

And you know what I don't blame her.  All I know about this is what has been
posted on LUGNET but it seems like some promises were made and then retracted
which could be interpreted as a "lie".

I am not saying that this had anything to do with the decision to restrict TLC
posting to the .lego.* groups, but it is an indication that things are not
totally rosey between Todd, Suz, and LD.  Again I could be wrong but I just
thought I would point that out.

As for the rest of the discussion I think there are some that think TLC has
been banned from LUGNET when that isn't the case at all.  I actually think the
new restrictions will give LD a higher profile here because we all know exactly
where to look to find offical TLC posts, I think .lego.announce may become one
of my favorite places to look because I know whatever is posted there is
"official LEGO information".  Again I support the idea, even though the "vocal
majority" seems to be against it.

(...) That explicit statement may have been Mark's straw man rather than a real statement, but I got that implication from things that have been said here. (...) One man's trash is another man's treasure. I didn't see all of those posts as clutter. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.lego.direct)
