Re: the best laid plans of mice and men

(...) His retort was, at least, posted to the proper group. (...) No, nothing compels you to, but if you're annoyed by an off-topic post, this is the place to say something about it. Instead of getting all bent out of shape when someone points out (...) (26 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Special deals at FAO

(...) I think Todd probably needs to add a catagory for over 100%. I don't know if Todd's process chocked when it saw the FAO prices or what. Actually I don't know why Todd bothered putting FAO in the list anyway. There prices are the worst (At (...) (26 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: the best laid plans of mice and men

(...) The casual observer usually isn't reading adminstrivia, so won't see my retort - which, by the way, wasn't specifically targeted at you, or even at the (3 or so?) off-topic messages in the specific thread I replied. I've noticed a fair amount (...) (26 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) lugnet.lego.direct, (...) Anything which keeps marmite off my screen helps. ;-) For the record, I really am in favour of compartmentalisation and all that. However, I am also aware that it tends to fragment threads (especially if one read via (...) (26 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Minor tweak

(...) I am sure Todd will correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the "spam myself" checkbox gets set depending on what you set on posting setup and got placed in your cookie. I did not check this box durring setup and it is not checked when I (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Minor tweak

I agree the red "Posting Message" is a good thing, and the preview, etc. setup is very good. I don't even want to think about going back to a regular newsgroup format - I don't even have newsgroups installed on my PC anymore. Kudos on your great (...)   Re: Concerns with Racial Attitudes and Lego

(...) One random thought from out of the blue: Several people have commented that they now primarily use the web interface for reading. When this is used, you see the whole thread no matter where it has wandered. Perhaps the web interface should by (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: poll newsgroup

(...) Hmm, with that in mind, should the Micky Mouse sets point to lugnet.fabuland? That's where much of the discussion of them is occuring. (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: poll newsgroup

(...) I would just encourage people to post about their stuff in the closest matching (e.g., most on-topic) newsgroup relating to their stuff. I see new Castle stuff, for example, posted to the .castle group almost daily. If someone's not interested (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: poll newsgroup

(...) I would think you'd simply want to direct comments into the closest matching particular group associated with the poll, ya? For example, a poll about Space stuff, direct that into the .space group where it's already on-topic. That's what we (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: poll newsgroup

(...) PS, I have no idea where you would want to put it. Definately not under announce.brickshelf, since the comments would most likely not be announcements. Actually, a newsgroup for discussing things people post to the gallery would be nice too. (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  poll newsgroup

How about a newsgroup to discuss the polls on brickshelf? I could put a link directly to the newsgroup from the poll results page. The ideal case would be for comments to be associated with their specific poll, but that would require me to write (...) (26 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
