I assume you mean that when you click "New" or "Reply", a separate window
would popup? That would be very cool.
(Just a few minutes ago, I realized web-based-reading would be easier to
manage if I did a "open in new window" jump to go from the message-list pages
to the actual messages. That way, I have a new window to play in to go
through the thread, make replies, etc. When I'm done, I just close the extra
window, and I'm back to the message-list. No more excessive back-jumping.)
If you meant that the confirmation message ("your post went through") would
popup in a new window, that would be bad.

It has to do with the stack paradigm of web browsers in general...hitting the Back button _really_ brings you back to where you were (assuming the browser isn't buggy), as opposed to a facsimilie of where (...) (24 years ago, 1-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
