Might it be nice if a separate window popped up which you could then just
_close_ and have to not worry about?  Some way to reply with a TARGET=foo
in the <A HREF=bar> or something like that.  Although...then you'd have to
worry about whether or not it was "safe" to close that window (i.e., whether
or not its local history went back before the reply).

Ah, that would be good. Normally I don't like browsers automatically poping up
new windows (if I want one I'll center click at work, or right click and chose
"open in new window" at home), but in this case, the new window for the reply
(or new post - handle that the same way) would follow the same interface
dynamics most GUI news readers follow.

Heck, even store the preference for each user.

Additional thought, can you close the window when the posting is complete
without errors (none of the newsreaders I use put up anything for successefull
posts - in fact, in general I hate having to click on a "your action completed
successefully" button, don't make me waste clicks to acknowledge trivial
things).
