| | (...) Fast HTTP response, slow NNTP response. I bet if you can get new messages headers in an ng, then you can load a message fairly quickly just after that. I see this all the time. | | | | | I use NNTP all the time and don't see this problem. It takes about 3 seconds to establish the NNTP connection between my laptop and lugnet.com and then I can scan and download the 39 groups I'm subscribed to in just a couple of minutes. I can open an NNTP connection by: - expanding the list of subscribed newsgroups - fetching the headers for any given newsgroup - opening a message - sending a message erm, I think that's all the daily situations that (...)
