In FTX mode, you have to use a double backslash to be guaranteed that it will

It doesn't matter whether there is additional text within a double backlash or
not: In FTX The first one is used to show the second one.

E.g. \ldraw\par\ts\s would become ldraw\parts\s too...

OK, now that's just plain weird. So you're saying that every odd backslash will
show up in an FTX post, no matter where they are, right? I confess that I fail
to see the reasoning behind this behavior.

It's worth noting that I couldn't find any mention of backslashes anywhere in
the FTX documentation.

Hi Travis,

sorry, but FTX/Perl isn't _my_ invention ;-)

I could imagine it has something to do with Perl (AYMK, LUGNET is based upon
Perl). The backslash in combination with a char is a so-called "control
character" in Perl and also used to generate other special characters (like the
backslash itself).

It's similar to HTML and the less-than-char < (or the greater-than-char >) for
tags. To really print them to the screen, you have to use < and >
respectively.

But it's just a thought.

Leg Godt!
Rene
