I have to agree with what Calum has posted. I would further like to add
my own personal comments:
1. We can ALL agree that the contest was not posted here on Lugnet
until the Lugnet Administrator (Lenny Hoffman) posted reference to it.
I can agree that even the thought of the contest was in bad form, bad taste,
mean-spirited, etc. etc. BUT linking it, referencing to it, or any other
derivative by a lugnet user MUCH Less is not only just as bad but WORSE.
It may be forgivable if a lugnet member was guilty of it, but there shouldn't
be any excuse for a lugnet admin.
2. This action by Chris Magno was done in JLUG not rtl Toronto or in its
area here on Lugnet. Sure a lot of guys from Toronto and area support
him on a personal level, but a lot of us (I am from Southern Ontario as well)
take what we say or do here with a measured grain of salt. This does
not mean we sanction or endorse what other members from here say or do.
3. I just want to say that while I disagree with what Chris did, and was
SHOCKED to see the contest "rules" on JLUG, I think that Larry was to
fault for the aimed sniped "trolling" comments beforehand.
So a prolonged ban to Chris isn't fair since he did not even
post the contest here.
Ben Medinets,
who sometimes wonders why I still hang out here on Lugnet, when I can
have more fun on less idiotic sites like Classic-Castle or Eurobricks.
