Hi, when I subscribed I lived in France, so I have a French flag next to my name. Now I'm in Germany and would like to change that, but it seems that I can't. I signed up for a LUGNET Membership on 11/25. I received the email from the LUGNET Membership server stating that my membership had been accepted. I sent a PayPal payment to the address requested, after which I received an email stating that SpamDam (...) (20 years ago, 14-Dec-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.people.newbie)

(...) I don't know WHY but I do see this a fair bit. Often just before the server goes into "server under heavy load, try again later" mode. When it happens to me, rather than refreshing (and possibly losing my words of wisdom unless I copied them (...) (20 years ago, 7-Dec-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

When I post replies (by web interface) I often find that the LUGNET server will continually send 0 as a response until I restart my browser, or refresh the original post's page - and then, with some luck it will accept the post. (...) Looks like some spammer or script kiddie (or worm) figured out that LUGNET is a good domain to spoof return addresses from. (...) 6 days ago I cleared my "spam" folder, and today there is a total of 9 pieces of spam, and 6 of them (one from each day) is this same user with the lugnet.com address, each mail has a different subject, and the attachment is slightly different (...)
