  Re: Ten cheers for Jake

(...) LUGNET has admins? I haven't ever seen evidence of that...I seem to remember a particular thread that had the F word in it over twenty times and it was never edited or deleted. 'The friendliest place on the Internet', eh? (20 years ago, 20-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Password, need reset.

Hi! It seems I've misplaced my e-mail with the password for my LUGNET-account #1793. I'd like to have a new password sent (or the old one, does not matter). Luckily I'm still logged on in one browser :) Thanks in advance and sorry about the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Password help

(...) Not a bad idea, but a more automated solution for reset is being considered instead. --Todd (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Password help

(...) Hi Chris, Sorry about that -- I missed your mail. I see it in my inbox now. I'll ask the server to reset your password -- you should be all set in about 5 minutes. --Todd (20 years ago, 10-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Password help

(...) Who did you email? Todd's currently the only person who can do this. (although changing that is my most desired enhancement request at the moment!) (...) If you emailed Todd, you did the right thing. (20 years ago, 10-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Password help

I need to get my password reset. I've e-mailed about this, but got no response. What is the procedure for this? Chris Yoder Member 1595 (20 years ago, 10-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Can we help?

(...) Then why did you not comment on it (or any other part of the post which was, in your view mocking) in your response? Why didn’t you point out that *that* post was mocking and that I should not do it? And if that was only ‘part of the mocking’ (...) (20 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: duplicate post

(...) Ask an admin via email to have it cancelled. Please include the (web interface) URL of the post in question that needs cancellation in your note. You must be the author of the post and your note should make that easily verifiable for best (...) (20 years ago, 8-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.faq, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Can we help?

(...) It is part of the mocking in that post, yes. (...) I don't view it that way. Not all sarcasm is mocking. (...) I don't feel the original FUT was wrong. Admonitions (which my post was, although poorly structured) belong in the original group (...) (20 years ago, 7-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Can we help?

(...) -snip- (...) But you said in (URL) that sarcasm didn't really have a place. (...) Noted. (...) Do you consider the part where I used almost your exact words in response to your post the part which is mocking? If so, how was your post not a (...)   BrickLink set inventories -> LUGNET ?

I know I remember seeing BrickLink set inventories being posted to Database / Set Inventories in the past, but I don't see any being posted there for quite a while. In fact, the last one that I see is dated 11-Apr-03. Is something broken or did this (...) (20 years ago, 7-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

What follows are my personal views, not official statements of position but I'm willing to wager that they are close enough as not to make much of a difference. (...) This post by you: (URL) was not, in my view, "mocking someone", nor did I say it (...) (20 years ago, 5-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: SPAM and OT messages

<Snip> (...) </Snip> Mr. S, Thank you for your insightful and thoughtful post. As far as I can tell, the only person who is overreacting here is you. As you can very well read, you may have noticed that I did, infact, forward these concerns to the (...) (20 years ago, 3-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Can we help?

(...) You see it as a mock of someone. I see it as a mock of an outrageous claim. (...) Mocks of some people are acceptable, though perhaps not appropriate, outside the administrative area. (...) (...) Possibly. But by no means necessarily. In my view, sometimes the way a point is made contributes to the understanding of the point being made. (...) But your condescending reprimand to me contained both sarcasm and mockery, right? And I note (...) (20 years ago, 2-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: SPAM and OT messages

  Re: Can we help?

(...) Hi! (...) Exactly why getting the FUT right is very helpful to the goal of keeping things well compartmentalized. (...) That's certainly not the intent, nor is it my perception. However if you could provide a few cites where you feel that's (...) (20 years ago, 2-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)
