I may be able to help with the colo aspect. I just moved Brickshelf to
a new ISP, and I still have some rack space left. Its at Equinix in
Ashburn, VA which has some of the most abundant and lowest cost bandwidth
anywhere. Rack space however is not cheap so hopefully the new LUGNET
server is only 1 or 2U. The ISP Im using has about 8 GigE transit pipes
plus a dozen or so peers. I do this sort of thing for a living and even
I was surprised at how well their network performs. Basically theyve
done everything I would have done if I were setting up a colo business.
Some of you may have noticed a performance improvement on Brickshelf since
the move :)

Thats awesome, Kevin!
Im actually pretty set on colo in Boston, though, at least for the
next twelve months. If it outgrows that, setting up another production
server for redundancy in another city would certainly make sense rather
than a third server in Boston.
Were looking at a pair of 1U systems (one production, one development/
staging). We also visited a potential colo place after work tonight and
we think we have a winner. More details hopefully later in the week or
early next week.
