  Set info updates

A couple of updates from trolling through my set list... 515 Basic Building Set has 113 pieces (according to the inventory on the box). 4819 is called Rebel Chariot (according to www.lego.com/shop). (I don't know the piece count...I threw out the (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) I remember a Classic Space set that you could only get by saving tokens from packs of washing powder in the UK (not my mum's regular brand unfortunately). It certainly wasn't shown in the catalogue at the time - this 1593 may well have been (...) (24 years ago, 11-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) Hmmm good response, Todd but I was scanning the newsgroups and there is a lugnet group for the software, why not have one for the sets as well. I did a search of "Alphateam" and came up with 15 postings on its own, and I'm sure that there is a (...)   Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) As a model, it doesn't look that attractive, but then I like some Classic Space and dislike some Classic Space (a blasphemous opinion, I know). The box certainly looks immaculate. (...) What is the story of these supermodel instructions. Were (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.admin.database)

1593 building challenge (was: Re: 1593 box photos!)

(...) Hmm, hmmmm, hmmmmmmm... This actually shouldn't be too hard to verify. Has anyone ever done this before?-- Using instructions from 6880 and 6929, collect together a pile of pieces that are used to build each of those sets. Then, using that (...)   1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) It's that rare, ya! I could see it going to $2000 or more if someone had pockets that deep. Just the instructions alone are incredibly rare, and the box is...well, we've never even seen a box before. Scans and color photocopies of the (...)   Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) What about the space port / launch command sets....are they not trying to tie town with space??? I think so...why not use Alpha Team to bridge the gap? (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) Well, for that matter, who would build a <set:6516 Moon Walker> or anything Time Cruisers for a town? :-) --Todd (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) Looking at the subtheme, I'd say some are town and some aren't. For example <set:6774 Alpha Team ATV> is fairly typical town, but <set:6771 Ogel Command Striker> is definately a space set. (I mean, who would build that for a town????) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) hmmm good response, Todd like I said, I am waiting to buy them to see what add-on sets (Beta sets??) are available and to see if they survive until next year. There are those out there that like Alpha team and Life on Mars... personally...I (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) I just double-checked the Alpha Team set numbers, and noticed that they're in the 677x range. That says they're not necessarily Town (which is 6300-6699) and also that it's probably going to be short-lived. But then again they're almost (...) (...) What if you count the records, and if there's more than say 20 (replace with number of your choice) in any category, use the links, otherwise display them all. ROSCO (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database)

I think it's a good idea. But to keep everyone happy you can maybe set a preference in user profiles, so people can choose wether to get the links or the whole bunch in one go. Duq "Todd Lehman" <lehman@javanet.com> wrote in message (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database)

  4801/4811 Defense Archer

4801/4811 Defense Archer...these are the same set inside the packaging. (I believe, IIRC, that 4811 is the polybag version.) 4811 has a piece count in the database, but 4801 does not. Both are 14 pieces. (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database)
