I second Mr. Ward's Nomination.

It's not a nomination, this isn't an election, and seconds aren't really
required or (from a clutter perspective) really useful, actually. In fact, no
replies at all are necessary unless there's some reason to believe that the
suggestion (not nomination, mind you, it is a suggestion to the administrators
of this area) is controversial.

This one isn't controversial in the slightest, except inasmuch that Bill isn't
using the process that we prefer be used to submit his request, (he posted
rather than mailed his first request (1) ) and hasn't, in his post, given us the
info we need to set him up anyway (didn't include his member number).

Hope that helps.

I plan to turn on his curatorship as soon as I have his member number in hand
(mailed to me) and have time to do it. I don't have time to go look it up. (I
don't have time to repeatedly explain I don't have time to go look it up, (which
is why I explain all this in the header) either... but I digress)

1 - this is, I suspect, a downside of the NNTP interface. I believe (but am not
sure) Bill is an NNTP user, and it is possible that NNTP users may not always
read forum headers/front pages as much as web users do, and thus, miss out on
scads of good info that is in the header/front page (one of the main reasons
curators exist, after all, is to update the header/front page of the group).
Perhaps the header/front page ought to be posted to the group (or sent to NNTP
subscribers only?) whenever it changes? I dunno. That doesn't seem very workable
but...

(...) I second Mr. Ward's Nomination. Good choice for the position. Thank you for stepping up. (URL) Bill Ward BW2003 Eric Sophie Lugnet Member <http:www.lugnet.com...1051/ESLC/ 1051> (20 years ago, 13-Apr-04, to lugnet.admin.curators, FTX)
