The basic construction is a backing of blue plates, with smaller blue plates staggered around to increase texture, and then (...) (...) Well, yes, and no. The bricks are not nearly as precise as the molds, but the dimensional tolerances for parts must certainly be a lot tighter than the difference between 1/64" and 0.4 mm. (...) Derek's got a good point - lead bricks aren't necessary - lots of battery boxes with dead batteries, or, 8466 tires.
