Re: Streamlining the parts selling process

(...) Well, part of the problem is that my whole storage system is starting to break. I will be spending some time this weekend overcoming my inclination to keep everything, and actually discard a lot of boxes (Larry and Todd, are you still looking (...)   Re: 8 millimeters or 5/16 inches? (was Re: Scales (Was: New Lego page!)

The basic issue I'm raising is determining the engineer's standard for the "horizontal spacing" from one stud to the next. I think this is what you're calling "the pitch". The most commonly quoted dimension standard among LEGO users is this (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.faq)

Brickworld Castle contest - Fling Things!

As many people have seen from the (URL) website>, we will again be doing the Fling Things contest. We will be using the same standard brick "missile" to fling. The missile is a simple stack of 2X4 bricks in two layers: two 2X4 bricks side-by-side (...) (15 years ago, 31-May-09, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.events.brickworld, lugnet.build.contests, FTX)

For everyone: Mark is placing an order with Shop at Home, and we can piggyback stuff on (...) (22 years ago, 13-Nov-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: 2000 Town construction sets

I have a theory... It is probably not correct, because it violates bishop's law (it requires a well thought-out plan for it to be correct) but here it is... Maybe they (TLG) design sets with no bricks (just specialty pieces) because "everyone (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: The decline of "From Bricks to Bothans"

Tim, I'm sure FBTB still has just as much support as it ever did, if not more. I've been visiting you're site every day for nearly a year now, and it seems to me that there are more new faces popping up in the forums these days than is normal. I (...)   Re: .datFest Update

Suz, Another quick thing I forgot to mention is, where to get bricks. Ideally we should have a play area with several thousand bricks. Do you know the best way to get that volume? We could purchase some sets and break them up ourselves, or go to TLG (...) (25 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad.datfest)

  Re: Solid Aluminum 2x4 Bricks!

  Re: Spanning large areas

That's a pretty interesting discussion! I suspect that your beams would be much stronger if you used the 1/3 high bricks instead of the standard 1 brick high. I have noticed that the 1/3 size bricks bind considerably more tightly than the full size (...) (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

My 2 cents on this: Plates. Plates Plates Plates. Or increase the block height to 3 bricks. My grabber wont work if i use bricks (except w/ 3 brick blocks), although i could redesign it. I dont have a terribly large lego collection, and i still (...) (23 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
