  Homemade LED Bricks

Hi all, I like the Mindstorms gear a lot, but I've always felt a proper lookin robot needs lights, preferably multi-coloured and blinking. Unfortunately all the Mindstorms kit has is a single light sensor. So I've decided to build my own lights. (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Proportions for a 2001 Monolith in LEGO?

(...) Well yeah... but it would be interesting to build one of the correct _physical_ proportions, if only to say that you did it. (As has been established, this works out to 2 studs wide, 8 studs across, and 15 brick-heights high.) (...) Yes... (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.build)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Dave, Those spare parts packs (#214-#271) have a long and complicated history. They first came out in 1955 (for non-brick items such as road signs, Esso pumps/signs, trees/bushes) and 1957 (for bricks -- prior to that bricks were only sold (...) (20 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Creator is here!

(...) You won't be pleasantly surprised at all. I saw most of the Creator sets in London a month ago and the one with the transparent bricks had around 4-6 1x2 bricks in like three colors. (...) On the "spumoni ice cream" theory, I bet these bricks were Lego's leftovers. Just like the S@H bulk sand red bricks, they had resin and time leftover and someone at Wal-Mart agreed to buy the result. The quantity may have been just perfect for (...)
