| Todd posted some good ideas but what you did was fine too. I've spoken out in the past about various types of auctions being "better" for the seller or for the buyer or the community but in the final analysis it's your stuff, you can sell it off as (...) If you actually understood the scientific method instead of cheering sproat when he takes pot shots at it, you'd have a better chance of doing (...) | Not to nitpick, but I would turn Tore's house 180 degrees, the front is much more dramatic! Who did the church? Needless to say I think this is pretty cool! (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.general)

Me, I never had a sister, but all I can say is, who wants to kiss their sister? (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

| If you called it "newsflash" perhaps it would carry the "it should be newsworthy" connotation that "news" does *without* the connotation that it is somehow related to newsreaders and nntp. Ignoring the charter (which everyone seems to be doing.. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

| I dunno, James. That is some funky looking train. I mean the prototype! Your model captures what is a pretty weird train pretty well. Exceedingly well, actually. Why the white tiles on the trucks?? To get the right look when it's not sitting on a (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

| Cool idea. A larger question: Can LUGNET and the slashdot based thing that just get started coexist? Do they fill different niches? Is there some overlap? Are we going to have to watch both places for newsflashy kinds of things? Just some food for (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

| | Re: 9V Micromotor
|
| Yes 1/2 rev/sec is about right, the micromotor is geared down a lot. That's why it's so noisy. It's good as a power source for animations, etc as you don't need a separate gear train. GMLTC transfer table uses two. You can stall it and at that point (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)
