Todd posted some good ideas but what you did was fine too. I've spoken
out in the past about various types of auctions being "better" for the
seller or for the buyer or the community but in the final analysis it's
your stuff, you can sell it off as you wish, and you have nothing to
feel guilty about.

I started the thread I did to get some discussion out, not because of
your post...

Todd has taken the position that a single round sealed bid auction is
either a degenerate case of an auction (a 1-cube as it were) or not an
auction at all, but in either case OK for .bst...

Since it didn't generate as much discussion as I thought, looks like the
consensus that .bst and .auction should remain separate is pretty solid.
Which was the goal of my post, checking for consensus.

I suspect I upset some people with the way I handled the sale of the glued-together 7725 I found. Although I have not seen direct flameage, there has been some innuendo on recent 'what is an auction' threads. So, I apologise if I caused offence, but (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.theory)
