Re: Whats up with BrickShelf mods?

(...) Kevin Loch posted this explanation of Brickshelf policy to the WAMALUG list on 8/25/04: We discourage the use of "title" images (no matter how creative), especially those that use words. The first picture is used as the representative (...) (20 years ago, 5-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish, FTX)

Re: Talk me into Bley at BrickFest

(...) Yeah, this has pretty much been my approach. The difference is that I very rarely bought sets just to display, and now I don't buy any. Like Bryan, my set purchases are way down - most dramatically in the past year. The old color sets have (...) (18 years ago, 21-Feb-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) Kelly, you're probably right that BF being a for-profit event shouldn't affect the perceived value of what you get for your registration fee. But it might affect other things. Would people be as willing to volunteer to help run BF if they knew (...) (18 years ago, 8-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: Not at all a pact with the devil...

Jake- Thanks for bringing a little sanity and actual fact to this discussion. I am incredibly sick of all the self-righteous whining about a software company being 'evil'. (...) snip (...) I completely sympathize with you on the color change issue, but that didn't stop me from being excited about the LEGO Factory contest/micro town theme.   Re: New homepage for LUGNET

Re: So why all the whining about the color changes?

(...) The official reason given for the color change was that new colors were less "muddy" and would be more appealing to kids. No mention was made of the new colors being cheaper to produce (although that hasn't been denied). But Jake McKee has (...) (21 years ago, 20-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)
