Now they don't have to worry about American economic imperialists exploiting their labor and natural (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Bad Policy #2 (Why all the secrecy, LEGO Direct?)

And another thing... Why is there so much secrecy surrounding any information coming from LEGO? It's like dealing with the NSA. Examples: #1: The recent "Train Summit". All of the particiapants were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Why? (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Worth the wait? (NO!)

(...) I think the rerelease of old sets can be a step towards better new sets. One of the reasons I always wished LEGO would put out old sets is that it would raise the bar for current sets. I like to think that once people are exposed to older, (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

(...) I guess I still don't get it. I'm trying to think of an example of how LEGO letting us know about something would hurt you. I mean, LEGO really doesn't have any competition (MegaBloks can only compete on price), so it's not like somebody would (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: The legend died (Re: The legend lives)

(...) LEGO is not a collector's item, like Beanie Babies or Elvis commemorative plates. It is a toy, meant to be played with, not sitting MISB in someone's closet accumulating value. Anything that LEGO does to make a great set more available is an (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

(...) That's a good idea, Shiri. I can bring a CD player if needed - I wouldn't want somebody to carry theirs on an airplane or train. Somebody mentioned the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach - I have a 2 CD set of Bach organ works (although I (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw, lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Libertarian Propaganda

Regardless of what domestic policies we persue (libertarian ones, I hope), our national interest doesn't change. Now, I (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

I don't think it's a coincidence that the first set they picked for rerelease was the highest-rated Castle set in the LUGNET database and one of the more expensive ones on eBay.
