Very Rare (1957-60) USA Lego Flag?

I am just finishing up the Lego CD Chapter on Lego flags, and I came across something that I found very interesting which may never have been discussed on LUGNET.   Re: What Happened to REAL Technic Sets?

Do you realize how silly it sounds to say you want them to make stuff you'd like to buy right after admitting you didn't buy the stuff you liked? Consider this, though. It (...)   Error in grabber arm instructions?

I've got an RIS 1.5 set, and I'm building the grabber arm from the instructions on the Lego website. The instructions call for a total of 10 beams of length 6 (is there a standard terminology for these things?), and my set only has 8. I'm (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Not a big IR fan either but one thing to consider about controllability is that perhaps this system will be more like a walkaround throttle than a wired one, that is, in many IR systems, you press the go button and the vehicle goes. With this approach it's inevitable that you'll need either: 1) Some mapping between a horribly unfriendly unique ID and a friendly name. ...or... 2) A way of storing a friendly name inside the device itself (eg by connecting the (...)
