The two go hand in hand:
Decent bricks = decent sets

Ever since this juniorisation rubbish has been in the bricks have become big
ugly and...err (whats that last one?). Or is it the other way around, since
the bricks have become big and ugly and <insert description> the sets have
become less interesting.

I get the impression with the likes of Lego Media getting so much TLG
resources, that one day soon in the future, you go and order a set composed of
"virtual bricks" and put them together into a "virtual model". That way you
can have however many of any particular piece you wanted.

My opinion: leave the movie making to movie makers, 95% of them can't get it
right so what hope does a toy company have.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

I'd probably still go see it anyhow, on the hope that they have special mini-
figs available.

Cheers
Santosh

The movies are mentioned on the official Lego website
http://www.lego.com/info/press.asp

Under the press releases section. Lego Media have bought into
an TV production
house I think. And Yes they're making movies.

Why can't they just make bricks and decent sets!

Hi, everyone.

Well, I called my mother this evening to see if she needed • copies of my
tax forms (just in on time!) for her head-of-household deduction--I'm
still in grad school so I maintain hers as my "permanent • address"--and
she told me the most interesting thing:  Apparently, on the • news, they
were talking about a LEGO movie in the works.  She couldn't • tell me much
about it, except that it's quite obviously animated; it was sort of a
little snippet of information she heard peripherally.

Has anyone else heard this?  Or am I beating an old horse?  Or a dead
one?  Or horse ashes?

best

I'm thinking with LEGO movies and even Saturday morning cartoons, that just means more sets. Basically the movies would just be long advertisements for their products, so hopefully it will push them to sell more sets. It's kind of like the Power (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-00, to lugnet.general)
