It looks like all the pieces are in place for L-guage DCC! I do think DCC the way we need to go, even though is will cost $50 minimum per train motor. For the DCC, I think this is where I can bring my electrical training to good use. After all, my backup was programming ;) If you're interested in converting, I can offer 1 of the motors I got from those Target sets (4561). I mostly purchased them (...) sounds like just adding other connections along the track will eliminate the loss of signal around a large layout. In lugnet.pirates, Richie Dulin wrote good stuff. Drawing on a particular thread, I found that one arrived at a point where there were few dimensions left to extend.
