For the DCC, I think this is where I can bring my electrical training to good
use. After all, my backup was programming ;)

If you're interested in converting, I can offer 1 of the motors I got from those
Target sets (4561). I mostly purchased them for the track parts and regulator,
so I have no issues of donating one free of charge. I have plenty of motors to
spare :) Also, I have a 1.0 RCX sitting here collecting dust, as I've yet to
begin any robotics. I also have a 2.0, so lending the 1.0 will not be a problem.
I do not know how to program the RCX, so if there's a pre-requirement needed for
it before next meeting, please let me know and I'll get it ready. Also, please
let me know if I need to bring a soldering iron.

I've read the post of the dedicated pc as well. Too bad this wasn't posted
before last week. I just threw out an old P90 machine. :( I do have an extra
network card (10/100) and CDROM (no burner) if needed.

If there's anyting else anyone wants me to bring, please drop me a line via
email. It'll be easier as checklist for me. Also, someone wanted me to bring my
AT-AT to the next meeting (sorry, forgot who). I will do that in case others
didn't hear the news.

Can't wait for the next meeting!

(...) Cool, we can leave an LDDC-enabled RCX on the layout for Steve to play with! (...) An AC power supply (such as comes with the train regulator) would be handy. Also if you have an infrared tower to spare, we can leave that on the layout, too. (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

It looks like all the pieces are in place for L-guage DCC! I do think DCC the way we need to go, even though is will cost $50 minimum per train motor. I'm not that good with a soldering iron, but I can follow instructions, and the ones at the link (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)
