  Re: End of the Underground?

(...) Okay, here I start a fight, but I don't believe that Underground should even exist as a thread apart from Space. In the way that the Rock Raiders team is described by TLC, they are deep mining on an asteroid or planetary body in outer space. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Dec-00, to lugnet.underground)

  Official PCS Intelligence Report.

*****EYES ONLY***** PCS Officers: This information is now being declassified for you. A USFLY (registry: DX-100) on mineral scanning duty around Phobos caught this ship on long range sensors.   Re: What do you think would happen if........

(...) This is used as a plot twist in Arthur Clarke's Earthlight, when the crew of a crippled spaceship transfers to a space liner in a vacuum. They do a few deep breathes, hold their breath, close their eyes and get pushed into a large airlock. (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Is it that big a deal??

(...) Actually, today's red is much different than '70s red. This color shocked me when I exited my dark ages and compared my '60s-'80s bricks with my '90s+. The old bricks are a deep rich color while the new ones are brighter and more transparent. (...) (21 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Over 70 LEGO products copied

(...) Hey, I didn't specify which monolith I was citing. Now that you mention it, though, Best-Lock bricks and tiles allow you to build to the precise proportions of Clarke's Monolith, 20 LDraw Units deep by 80 units wide by 180 units tall. Groovy. (...)   Re: 45 degree walls using hinges?

(...) Close, but not quite. It's actually a 6-stud long wall in a 4x5x6-stud triangle. The 3x4x5 ratio is measured from the centers of the studs, not the studs themselves. Going 3 studs deep and 4 studs wide actually gives you slightly more than 4.5 (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.build)
