  Re: fast firmware downloader

(...) Just for the record, I implemented a dual-speed downloader a few months ago and mailed John Tamplin with information about it with regards to the JVM port that seems to have died. I used a different strategy to hack the dual speed downloads. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Hi Erick! Thanks for the enthusiasm. I know I'm jumping in a little late on this, but I agree with you. I don't think castle is dead at all! I've seen some wonderful creations around here as of late. While it may never be as busy as the "olden (...) (22 years ago, 7-Oct-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  2000 US in-box Technic catalog

Just an FYI here. I've got the 2000 US Lego Technic catalog. It comes in the 8001 Battle Droid set (and possibly the 8000 Pit Droid too -- haven't opened that one yet). This catalog is somewhat disappointing. There are no pictures of the new 84xx (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

(...) That's correct. The lego-robotics@crynwr.com list is gatewayed with lugnet.robotics only and does not receive messages posted to any of its subgroups. (...)   Play tunes with legOS: "Wir sind die Roboter"

well, yesterday i promised to post some header file that makes it easy to program the sound timer for playing tunes in a memory saving way - here it is. I have a 100 MHz computer, connected to the Net via a 56K modem dialup, with an old scanner that I got second-(or third-)hand for about $25. It works fine.
