Re: NILTC Show at Illinois Railway Museum - Aug 15-17 and Aug 23-24

(...) After only wiping out a few of the track-side structures on the layout.... Gotta love that 8-wide overhang! The Challenger still needs some fine-tuning, this was its "world premier", since I had never actully run it powered. "Thanks" to all (...)   Re: Is the Brickfest 2003 train layout DCC or normal?

(...) I would guess it would be standard 9volt. I'm sure some people will bring DCC-modified stuff, but for us 'less brave' people, we'll run regular 9volt. Of course, the train I'm bringing hasn't even been powered yet, so I have no real idea how (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jul-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: AFOLs Parody, the text portion

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

(...) I think they're there to spread the 'pull' of the train buffer/magnet over a larger area. The buffer has tabs that fit into the clips. By spreading the stress out a bit more it makes it less likely that the buffer will pull off the motor. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Which set has 12- and 20 tooth double bevel gears?

(...) The "Spybotics" sets all have the double-bevel gears. If you're lucky, you can find the sets on clearance - I got lucky and scored three of them at 75% off after Christmas at a not-so-local Target... I'm going to hazard a *guess* that Lego (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

another LEGO reference on "The Simpsons"

Tonight's episode, Smithers is telling Mr. Burns that he had buried toxic waste under LEGOLAND, and that someday people would discover it.   Re: Draft of a new driver wheel

I can definitely forsee having to explain to *everyone* who looks at our train layout that these wheels are NOT a (...) (21 years ago, 28-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

an idea for the new colors in the 2004 sets

I've decided I'm just going to start buying these sets, and then returning them - opened - saying that "these grey pieces don't match the grey pieces I already have..." Yea, it's petty, but if enough people started doing it I guarantee you it would (...) (21 years ago, 25-Nov-03, to lugnet.general) !

Actually, probably best not a good idea since the crowd may run our layout over trying to get a good look at the masterful creation GMLTC has created. I (...)
