  Re: running .s19

does your program to anything else other than attempt to leave special mode? You could have it write a value to the motor address ($7000); that would be a more visible indication that it is running. BTW, why is your first instinct to take it out of (...) (28 years ago, 19-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I am unavailable on the 14th. I'll be in Martinez the whole day, so I vote for the 7th. But I guess whoever starts these things should just decide and the heck with everybody else. It's the only way to do it. Otherwise you're gonna get people like (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jul-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Run Time error 1

Peter: run-time error 1 is "no stack place for start_process()". This is given in the IC/Handy Board manual. The reason is your "repeat" procedure, which keeps making more processes!! Instead of this, put each of your subprocesses in a loop; e.g: (...) (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR signal

Sounds to me like your LED is just not focused straight ahead. I found that sticking the IR LED in a Radio Shack panel mount LED holder (cat no 276-080a) worked the best for focusing the beam of IR. I had tried soda straws and other things, but the (...) (27 years ago, 21-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: 6 servos

(...) There are two types of serial voltages: TTL level and RS-232 level. The HB's serial interface board converts from TTL to RS-232 for communicating with the host computer. The Scott Edwards board accepts TTL levels, so an HB pin can drive it (...) (28 years ago, 22-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Problems with downloading

Tom: Your tests, specifically the fact that the HB's PWR LED comes on after download fails, demonstrate conclusively that the HB can *receive* data from your PC. This proves that the downloading software is able to open the serial port properly, and (...) (28 years ago, 23-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: voltage regulator current rating

(...) The rated total is 1 amp. The HB itself draws 100 to 200 mA? I'm not sure, I haven't measured it exactly. Since the HB's battery is 9.6v, and the output voltage of the regulator is 5v, the thing drops 4.6v, and at 600 to 700 mA of current that (...)
