Fred Cass, Seems like I remember reading in NUTS and VOLTS, or somewhere, about Randy Sargent and his partners involved in a competiton, using a Radio Shack AM transmitter on their robot.   interfacing HB w/Mini-SSC
 
Fred (or anyone), I'm working with a group trying to interface Scott Edward's Mini-SSC II with the HB. By directly connecting the SSC to a computer and running a simple QBASIC program, we verified that the SSC works correctly when it receives proper (...) Hi, I am trying to use the my handy board to communicate with an application on my computer by passing integers through the serial port. Thanks David for a nice explanation of how to add I/O using shift registers. Let us not all forget that the HB does have two uncommitted digital output ASIDE from the four SPI pins: PA7 (a bidirectional pin which is marked as digital input #9) and (...) Hi Fred, I do not know exactly of your situation with the IR detector/emitter arrangement. I found that it sometimes picks up noise occassionally. I also found that with small resister in the range that you are using (330ohms), the range is too much (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

If I'm not mistaken, (someone please corect) those speeds represent the actual shape of the waveform. Let's list some details. 1. Each bit 0 or 1 represents 0V or 9.6V.
