| hello, i use the handyboard for closed loop position control. the handyboard is good for such a task provided that you choose a motor well suited for the task, and an accurate feedback element, such as a (very) linear pot or optical encoder. as for (...) | That's a funny question. I just finished a class on this exact topic. The basic determining factors when deciding whether to use a stepper motor or a DC brush/less servo motor is speed and open/closed loop control. Stepper motors are limited to (...) | it's in the faq, at (URL) you do is write to 0x4000, 0x5000, 0x6000 depending on whether your latch is attached to Y0, Y2, or Y4 (respectively). e.g., "poke(0x4000, 0xff);" will set all the bits of a latch attached to Y0 to 1.
