  Re: Overcharged battery?

no i disagree with this answer. the HB is designed to be left on normal charge indefinitely. the batts can get a little warm. if they are hot then something is wrong, but a little warm is nothing to worry about. when fully charged and with no load (...)   RE:Handyboard project

Hi James, I purchased an assembled and tested H Board from Patrick Hui for about $200, as well as the registered version of IC. Also got his sensor kit ($15). Expansion Board was purchased from Gleason for $59. Also bought the sensor/motor kit from (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Not SW, 20% off at Fred Meyers

I opened my Sunday Seattle Times and went through all the adverts and there is a 20% off all Duplo and Lego coupon at Fred Meyers. The ones in Bellevue and Kirkland had just stocked up on Saturday, so there should be some good gettin'. I'm planning (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.wa.sea)

Like Fred, I'm looking forward to reading whatever folks post to baylug. Right now, Tom Stangl's site is providing my picture fix. Thanks Tom!   Easy communication between HBs

After struggling with it for many hours I found an alternative to Randy's serialio.c serial communication which I couldn't get working. So I used the Pa7_9600 Baud Serial output from unknown origin (Fred?) ((URL) ial.html). I cut a standard RJ11 (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: handy board troubles...

great, that's excellent! the key trick was pulling all the socketed chips. it's a weird but true fact that chips that don't have valid logic supplies can draw power in from their inputs pins (when the inputs are high) and operate off of that leeched (...)   Re: handy board troubles...

re: this problem with the memory contents not persisting, check the separate power supply to the RAM (U14). you might need to remove all socketed ICs from the board 'cause power can bleed to chips via input pins. also check that U12 the DS1233 is (...)   Hooray! Discussion!

I'm glad to see some active discussion from folks on the topic of a BA group. Please keep it up (and "Play nice. Don't fight! ;-).   Re: resistor pull-up help!

basically, yes. the inputs from the expansion board feed into the inputs on the main board. if you need a high impedance input, your best bet is to cut a trace on the main board and use one of those inputs. the exp bd takes over main board inputs 0 (...)   Re: resistor pull-up help!

the exp bd inputs plug into the inputs on the main HB. so you still have to remove the pullup on the main HB. just cut the short trace on the underside of the board between the signal input pin and the pullup resistor. f.
